Our client is a subsidiary of a global steel service center headquartered in Germany. Globally they have approx. 45 employees and their customers are mainly manufacturers of industrial saw blades, knives and tools for various applications.
They are responsible for sales in North and South America. The office is located near the I-75/I-285 interchange and our warehouses are in Atlanta (GA), Columbus (OH), Cleveland (OH) and Portland (OR).

Tool Steel Regional Sales Representative
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-          Primary account representative for customers in Midwestern area
-          Prepare sales quotations together with operations and present to customer
-          30-40% travel required
-          Calling on an existing, established account base with the target of maintaining current business and finding areas of potential growth
-          Penetrating accounts beyond the buyer and into the engineering and management levels
-          New business development taking over an existing pipeline of potential opportunities, but also targeting untapped potential accounts and development of a pipeline in the following areas:
-          Tool Steels (sheets/discs/flat bars – cutting tools)
-          Food Products (high-carbon and stainless steel band saws & knives)
-          Secondary Woodworking markets (knives and saws)
-          Handling of customer complaints – Liaison to the Local office AND to the technical staff in Germany
-          Coordination with Operations and Sales to determine market trends, potential, and strategies to achieve sales goals
-          Submission of call reports to management on a timely basis
-          College degree
-          Minimum of 5 years outside sales experience relative to the sale of tool steel and related products
-          High-speed steel experience is beneficial, but not required
-          Understanding and proven track record of relationship selling with excellent references
-          Experience at mill and/or distributor level
-          Strong understanding of the tool steel/HSS manufacturing process and at least some experience at handling technical/metallurgical issues or problems
-          Experience selling steel products into the agricultural / food processing industries is beneficial
-          Must be a self driven/results oriented individual with knowledge and skill to know when to be aggressive and when to let the opportunity drive itself
-          Must be able to produce results with minimal supervision
-          Experience working from a home office is required if outside the Atlanta, GA area
-          Driver’s license and good driving record are required for this position
